Liposuction Contouring
Liposuction may be performed on its own or in combination with another procedure such as a facelift, tummy tuck or breast reduction to enhance the cosmetic outcome. During liposuction, Dr. Feiner will inject a solution with anesthetic and epinephrine to help minimize pain and bleeding and to facilitate fat removal. A hollow metal cannula is used to cut and remove the fat through tiny incisions. Liposuction permanently removes fat from the treated areas.
Areas treated:
- Face and neck
- Bra Roll, chest and breast area
- Abdomen and waist
- Hips & Thighs
- Upper Arms
- Back
- Calves and Ankles
Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity and should not be a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is not useful in the treatment of cellulite. Liposuction cannot tighten loose or saggy skin. Some modalities combine liposuction with ultrasound, laser and radiofrequency technology to heat the skin in an attempt to tighten it, but the data on efficacy have not been proven.
Florida Safety Regulations: As an outpatient procedure in Florida, patients can only receive up to 4 liters of liposuction/fat removal as a stand-alone procedure or 1 liter of fat removal when liposuction is done in combination with another surgical procedure, like a tummy tuck.
